Commandos go through one of the toughest training regimes in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).They are elite troopers, trained to fight in specialised operations.
Marching in on their red beret day, welcoming the “Best Combat Unit – 1st Commando Battalion”. Considered one of the SAF’s elite units, the unit is trained for strike missions, reconnaissance missions and anti-terrorist action. 1st Commando Battalion is currently commanded by Chief Commando Officer COL Lam Shui Tong.
